Beslan - Ossetia

Victoria & Olya Kallagov

I want to tell you about two girls, whom I met in Beslan! The Kallagov' sisters, Victoria - 17 years and Olya - 11 years old, shortly before the tragic terrorist attack, lost their mother. The morning of September 1, 2004 they both went to school. Victoria was in Grade 7 and Olya in Grade 1. During the siege of the school Victoria managed to escape. Once safe, she remembered that her sister was held hostage by the terrorists. Not thinking about the danger, she ran back to school. The Militants grabbed her, beat her up and pushed her into the gym. Only the next day, among the hundreds of hostages, she was able to find her sister Olya. September 3, after the first explosions when the school building began to burn, wounded in the arm and leg, Victoria saves her little sister. The wounded girls were finally brought to safety by the special forces. Thank God both girls survived. Upon hearing this story, in my next visit to Beslan, I met with them and their father Taimuraz. Many times in their house, we prayed and talked about the Lord.

In 2006, we invited Victoria and Olya to the US. Surprisingly, their father gave his consent to the trip. Only now I understand how much they needed this visit to the States. They were here for two months. In this time they learned to pray and came to believe in Jesus. In 2008, the family was struck by another problem. The father Taimuraz was diagnosed with cancer. After several surgeries, he died in December of 2008. The girls were left alone. They do not even have a close relative. Neighbors and friends help us they can. Victoria says that in times of loneliness, she prays and listens to Christian preaching. They receive from the state 3000 rubles ($90), which is not enough to make a living. Our God - is a God of orphans. I believe that he will take care of them. We have opened the project: "Victoria & Olya Kallagov" for all whom God is leading to support these girls.

Thank you for supporting our ministry and may God reward your giving according to His riches and grace!
