Tashkent

"Last week we held our 2 day conference for all leaders and pastors of the "Association of National Churches" To be honest we were worried about the possible disruption of the gathering. The Theme of the conference was "Persecution and the Bible". It is a relevant subject for all of us because most of our pastors particularly those from villages are experiencing persecution in one way or another. This meeting was a huge encouragement. Many were freed from their constant fear, doubts and renew their commitment to the Lord. Everyone understood that all pastors in Uzbekistan face similar problems, which united them even more to support and pray for each other. Fifty people came from around the country from twenty different churches and house groups to spent some time together and get the necessary strength to do ministry in a hostile atmosphere.

Projects in Uzbekistan...

"We have prayed for the city of Soldatsky (40 miles from Tashkent the capital) for 5 years. My mother in law is living there. She came to Christ around 5 years ago and later some of her neighbors. Last year we sent an evangelistic team to the city and 6 more people came to know Jesus. Few month ago we started to regularly visit the new believers and contact services each Sunday. Today there are two house churches in Soldatsky and one small group in the suburbs. One of the evangelists who went there from week to week decided to move to the city and help the local believers to grow as a church. We are praying and hope to buy a small apartment for the church. We already have $2000, but to buy an apartment we need at least $4000.

Another missionary family, who has 6 kids we are planning to send to Chirchik, a city 20 miles form Tashkent. We already bought an apartment there and pray for the monthly support of the family for the next year in the amount of $150. Please pray for it! We will be thankful and happy if there is any possibility to help them. It would be a great blessing for our church and the expansion of the local missionary movement. We want to send the first 5 families to plant new churches in other cities of Uzbekistan. We also plan to start a school for missions in order to better equip our people. These are the first steps of our church in Tashkent. Please support us in your prayers!"
